About the Artist

Jessica Kopp is the artist behind Anna Chovie. She is a Florida-Grown Scorpio and indoor plant enthusiast who spent 11 years working in corporate fashion before committing full time to pursuing her passion of bringing weird art into your life.

About the Art

Initially inspired by a long time fascination with fake food, Amy Sedaris, and vintage cookbooks featuring recipes for gelatin abominations. After delving more into the history of postwar cooking in America, the work has expanded into exploring the notion that these meals which at surface level appeared to simply be food atrocities were actually a secret feminist revolution. Was gelatin a covert weapon? Why else would tuna and cherries be suspended in celery jell-o? Anna Chovie’s newer work is inspired by this theory. All work is one of a kind and hand made in Seattle, WA.
