The winner of 1997’s Miss New Jersey pageant didn’t earn her crown from the swimsuit competition or even by talking about world peace. No— it was the talent portion where she shined in which she submitted the first and only aspic in pageant history and won over the judges for victory. The fact that every other contestant that year has tried her aspic in rehearsal and then happen to all get food poisoning and disqualified from the pageant surely has nothing to do with the win.
Aspic is layered with colors from the Italian flag, then filled and topped with classic ingredients like salami, olives, tomatoes, mozzarella balls, banana peppers, etc
